About Prince

Living in Prince

Prince is a small, established subdivision in Highlands with homes along East and West Oak Street. Most houses were built between the early 1950s and late 1970s, typically two or three bedroom single-story homes on lots around 6,500 square feet. Mature trees, detached and attached garages and covered patios give the street a comfortable, lived-in feel.

Prince is in Goose Creek CISD, with listings showing Hopper and Highlands Elementary, Highlands Junior High and Goose Creek Memorial High School. Confirm schools for each address. Recent listings note no HOA, and the neighborhood sits close to Main Street, Interstate 10 and the rest of Highlands. The neighborhood’s central location makes errands, school drop off and the commute to Baytown or Houston simple.

Highlands grew quickly after World War II, and by 1948 it reported about 3,000 residents and 75 businesses. Many of the homes in Prince date from that period of growth, which gives the neighborhood a classic post-war character. The Highlands Post Office on Main Street, Highlands Park and the Stratford Branch Library are all close by.

With homes of this age, a smart inspection plan pays off. We help buyers review foundation, roof, electrical and plumbing updates and look at permits for additions, so you can budget with confidence and enjoy the home’s character.

Highlands sits on the high east bank of the San Jacinto River, and we review flood zone information and seller disclosures for every home we show here. Own a home in Prince?
