About Commons of Lake Houston
Living in Commons of Lake Houston
The Commons of Lake Houston is a lakeside master-planned community in Huffman, on the east side of Lake Houston in unincorporated Harris County. It was developed by The Signorelli Company, which describes the community as covering about 3,400 acres. The scale shows in the homesites: many lots run one and a half acres or more, with a mix of cleared yards and mature trees, and recent listings describe the community as gated.
Life here is built around the lake. Residents have a community boat ramp and pool, and some properties include covered boat storage or shops for the gear that comes with lake living. The Houston Chronicle reported a final release of waterfront lots here in 2016, so the community includes both interior homesites and lots closer to the water. Recent listings include single-story and two-story homes built from the 1990s on.
Getting in and out is simple. From FM 1960 and FM 2100 in Huffman, residents head north on FM 2100 and turn onto Second Huffman Cleveland Road to reach the entrances. Highway 99, the Grand Parkway, is nearby, and Valley Ranch Town Center is roughly fifteen minutes away for shopping and dining. Buyers here often come for the combination of land, privacy and lake access. We help buyers compare interior and lake-oriented lots, review HOA rules for boats and outbuildings, and look at septic, water and utility service for each property.
The Commons of Lake Houston is in Huffman ISD. Listings show Huffman Elementary, Huffman Middle School and Hargrave High School, and we confirm assignments for every address. Huffman is also home to I.T. May Park, a Harris County park with ball fields, playgrounds and a walking trail. With Lake Houston at the community’s doorstep, we review flood zone maps, elevation details where available, surveys and seller disclosures for every home we show here. It is a standard part of how we help buyers in lake communities make confident decisions.
Huffman itself has a long history. The community was named for David Huffman, who came to Texas to fight in the Texas Revolution, and its post office opened in 1888. Farming, ranching and logging shaped the early economy, and Lake Houston, completed in 1953 as a reservoir for the City of Houston, later turned the area into a destination for boating, fishing, water skiing and sailing.
If you own in The Commons of Lake Houston, your buyer is often someone who wants room, privacy and a boat ramp close to home. Our pricing review accounts for acreage, outbuildings and lot position within the community, and we market the boat ramp, gated entry and room to roam that make The Commons distinctive.
