About Cochran's Crossing

Living in Cochran's Crossing

Cochran’s Crossing sits in the center of The Woodlands, close enough to Town Center and Market Street that dinner, shopping and concerts are a short drive away. The village opened in 1983 and shares its name with Grogan’s Mill: both honor the Grogan-Cochran Lumber Mill that once worked this land. Today it is home to more than 16,000 residents. Village boundaries in The Woodlands were drawn along natural features and major roads, and Cochran’s Crossing is shaped by greenbelts that give many neighborhoods a wooded backdrop.

Golf and recreation are woven into daily life here. Cochran’s Crossing is home to The Woodlands Country Club, and The Woodlands High School campus sits within the village. Residents have more than 20 parks and green spaces, including Bear Branch Park and its sports fields, and one of the three YMCA facilities in The Woodlands is on Shadowbend Drive. The Cochran’s Crossing Village Center, anchored by a Kroger, covers groceries, dining and banking. Other parks include Capstone Park, Cochran’s Green Park, Entry Lake Park, Mystic Lake Park, Shadowbend Park, Turnstone Park and the Shadow Lake Marsh Experience, so there is always somewhere to walk, fish or let the kids burn off energy. For golfers, having The Woodlands Country Club inside the village means a short drive to the first tee and a club community close to home. Club membership is separate from home ownership, and we can explain how it works.

Living in a central village has real day to day advantages. Commutes to the office parks around Town Center and Research Forest are short, and Interstate 45 is easy to reach without crossing the whole community. Residents also share The Woodlands Township services, from parks and recreation to trash pickup and enhanced patrols, along with The Woodlands’ wider network of more than 150 parks and the pathways that connect them.

Because the village has been around since the early 1980s, buyers find a wide mix of home sizes and ages, from smaller family homes to large homes on the golf course. Schools are part of Conroe ISD, and we confirm the zoned campuses for each address. Some streets back up to ponds and greenbelts, and we review flood zone information and disclosures for every home we show. Older homes here often sit on larger, wooded lots, and many have been updated over the years, so we help you compare condition, layout and setting side by side.
