About Riverwalk
Living in Riverwalk
Riverwalk is a Porter neighborhood off FM 1314, reached from I-69 by heading north on FM 1314 to Riverwalk Drive. Streets such as Riverwalk Drive, Brazos Drive, Desna Drive and Kanawha Drive hold homes on large, wooded homesites, often one to two acres or more. Custom builders have been active here, and recent listings include both newer custom construction and homes from the 2010s with outdoor kitchens, covered pavilions and room for extra parking.
Riverwalk is in New Caney ISD. Porter High School is about a mile away, and recent listings have shown different elementary and middle school assignments by section, including Sorters Mill Elementary and White Oak Middle School, so we confirm campuses for every address. The neighborhood has a homeowners association, and one listing names a lake among the community features. Cumberland Park, Mirror Lake Park and two golf courses, Highland Pines and Oakhurst, are within a few miles.
Porter’s history runs back to the 1860s, when ranchers first settled east Montgomery County, and to sawmill operator James Porter, whose name the community still carries. Riverwalk captures some of that wooded, wide-open character while sitting close to newer shopping at Valley Ranch Town Center and the Grand Parkway.
Custom homes on acreage call for a careful look at surveys, septic systems, drainage, outbuildings and the neighborhood’s deed restrictions. We help buyers line up the right inspections and review every document so the home and the land both fit your plans.
With a lake in the community and wooded lots throughout, we review flood zone maps, surveys and seller disclosures for every home we show. If you own in Riverwalk, large custom homes deserve a careful pricing plan, and we can show you what your Riverwalk home is worth and how to reach buyers looking for space near FM 1314 and the Grand Parkway.
