About New Caney

New Caney is an unincorporated community in east Montgomery County, just north of Kingwood along U.S. 59 / I-69. It has grown quickly as the Grand Parkway opened and new master-planned communities arrived, but it still offers wooded acreage and rural tracts a short drive from the city.

Buyers here choose between newer construction in communities such as Tavola and Harrington Trails, established neighborhoods like Roman Forest and Woodbranch, and land with room for horses or a shop. Lake Houston Wilderness Park, a large nature park owned by the City of Houston, sits on the edge of New Caney with trails, camping and river access.

Quick Facts

Most of New Caney is in New Caney ISD. Tax rates vary widely because many newer communities are inside MUDs, so we compare the full rate and HOA dues for each home before you choose.
